Welcome to all of our wonderful dancers! We had an amazing time in 2022 and 2023 meeting back together in person at "The Mountain". We are eager to see everyone again, and hope that as many of you as possible will be able to come to The Mountain in 2024!

Come join us as we celebrate our 29th year and Israel’s 76th birthday! Enjoy three full days and three long nights at this beautiful, relaxing and rustic retreat near Highlands, NC in the Blue Ridge Mountains, with its incredible mountain views and natural surroundings.

In addition to dance teaching sessions and dance parties lasting long into the night, in a wonderful dance hall called “the Tree House”, you can enjoy heated rooms, hike many trails, enjoy afternoon wine parties and take part in our traditional Kabbalat Shabbat and Havdalah services. You can feast on 3 fabulous meals a day and our legendary non-stop yummy snacks guaranteed to satisfy even the hungriest of dancers. Non-dancing family and friends (including children) are always welcome.

We continue to dance in memory of our beloved Ruthy Slann, the creator of this camp, its director for the first 27 years, and our inspiration. Ruthy, a native of Israel, avid dancer and veteran teacher, spent a lifetime sharing the joy of dance and love of Israel. She co-directed the Blue Star Fred Berk Israeli Dance Camp for several years, was the assistant course director for the annual Karmiel Summer Course for foreign teachers, and the driving force behind the Karmiel Tour of Israel from 1997-2000. Ruthy's enthusiasm for dancing was dangerously contagious, and we are privileged to carry on spreading it!

Schedule

We will follow a similar schedule of events as we have for the past several years. If you have attended camp before, you will know what to expect. We will teach a variety of dances in the mornings, dedicate afternoons to special sessions for beginners, lines, partners, or review, and hold nightly themed dance parties followed by hours of your favorite requests!

The camp will begin with dinner on Friday and will conclude with lunch on Monday. (You may arrive any time on Friday, although rooms may not be available until the afternoon.)

Registration

To register for Karmiel USA 2024, please visit the link below to fill in the registration form and submit it. When you do you should receive a confirmation email within a few minutes. If not, please check your "Spam" folder. If you still can't find it, please reach out to the website administrator at info@karmielusa.com with your registration info so we can make sure you are registered.

Please note that this form is just for registering. You will still need to submit payment in order to complete your registration. If you register during the "Early Registration" period, we need to receive your payment during that period as well, in order to guarantee the reduced fee.

Pricing & Payment

Here is a breakdown of the pricing per registrant based on age, shared room or single room, and full or partial weekend.

End of Registration

Registration closes at the end of the day on August 12, 2024. Please remember that we need to have received your payment in order for your registration to be fully completed.

Included

Payment covers housing (including rooms with private bath, all beddings and towels), all meals & snacks, all teaching sessions, and night parties.

Payment

Rebekah will be handling our payments this year. She can receive paper checks sent to her address or Zelle transfers. Her address and contact information will be in the confirmation email. You can also request alternate methods of payment by sending her an email: bowlinre@gmail.com.

Changes in Plans

Payment for Karmiel USA is non-refundable. That vast majority of our fees are for lodging with The Mountain, and we are obligated to abide by their cancellation policies. If you cancel prior to the date that we must pay in full to The Mountain, we will happily apply any unused portion toward the following year's camp. Usually we cannot carry a credit forward beyond one year.

Youth and Children

We love to have teens and children participate in Karmiel USA! We see them as the next generation of dancers that will continue to carry the love of dance into the future. We have plenty of housing options for families of nearly any size to lodge together. Our fees anticipate that all minors will be participating with a parent or parent-arranged chaperone. If a minor would like to attend without a chaperone, please contact us to make special arrangements!
