Full Dance List

Here is a sortable and searchable list of ALL the dances taught during our past Dance Camps!

(There are still some details missing for older camps, but those will be filled in as we are able to gather more information.)

Our very first year of camp was held on Labor Day weekend in 1996, at Camp Coleman in Cleveland, GA.  Thus the name of the dance camp became "Camp Coleman."  Every year since then, we have always held camp on Labor Day weekend (except for 2003-2009 which were the weekend before or after).  We continued to meet at Camp Coleman from 1996 through 2003 (eight years total).

In 2004, we changed location and met at Camp Greenville in Cleveland, SC.  We decided to also rename the camp, and it became "Karmiel USA."  This was both a result of the location change as well as the intention to bring some of the fun and feel of the annual "Karmiel Summer Course & Festival For Foreign Teachers and Dancers of Israeli Folk Dance" (held in Karmiel, Israel) back to the United States, since Dany & Ruthy were directors for both the summer course in Israel and the dance camp here in the United States.  (Many camp attendees were also attendees at the summer course that year!)

In 2005, we changed location once again, and this time met at Forest Hills Resort in Dahlonega, GA.  We continued to meet there from 2005 through 2009 (five years total).

In 2010, we changed to our current location, at The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center in Highlands, NC.  We continued to meet there from 2010 through 2019 (ten years total).

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit and we could not meet in person, so we decided to do a virtual Zoom event (with a small in-person group in Charlotte, NC to teach and film from).  Likewise in 2021 we still could not meet in person, and so held another virtual Zoom event (and also honored our dear departed Ruthy).

This year, in 2022, we are excited to return to our "home" at The Mountain for our normal fully in-person camp.
